Clean Tech as a Percentage of Total Venture Capital
2005: 0.2 percent
2006: 6.7 percent
2007: 10 percent*
TechCrunch had an interesting blog post about this in November when the National Venture Capital Association reported that venture capital firms had pored over $2.6 billion into clean tech from 168 deals in the first three quarters of 2007.
California far outpaced every other state in the number of deals and overall level of investment. Massachusetts came in second followed closely by Texas. Read thepress release.
