Envision Solar’s “Infrastructure in A Crate”

Envision Solar International announced the launch of its latest product designed to integrate clean power into buildings and communities.  LifeVillage is a modular self-contained “infrastructure in a crate” that can provide critical utilities even in the most remote areas.

REC Wafer Sales Contract with Neo Solar Power

REC has signed a long-term agreement with Neo Solar Power for the supply of wafers.

Sencera Equity Investment

Sencera announced completion of a three-stage $15.6 million equity investment.  Proceeds will be utilized to fund the company’s first 35-MW PV module factory in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Sencera will also accelerate the development of its second generation high-efficiency amorphous-microcrystalline silicon solar module.

ET Solar Tracking Systems for Irrigation District, California

ET Solar Group Corp. announced that its dual-axis tracking systems have been installed and grid-connected at the Delano-Earlimart Irrigation District in Southern California.  The dual-axis tracking systems were jointly developed by ET Solar Group and Meca Solar.

Open Energy Corporation PV System for Academy of Sciences, California

Open Energy Corporation announced that it has completed its largest solar electric installation for the new California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.

Sharp, Borrego Donation of Solar Power Systems to Firehouses, California

Sharp and Borrego Solar Systems partnered on a project to donate and install solar electric systems at firehouses in some of the neighborhoods most severely impacted by the Autumn 2007 wildfires in Southern California.

International PV Trade Mission to China

The third International PV Trade Mission to China will be held 24-28 November.  The open trade mission, dedicated to PV and organized by SolarPlaza, will include visits to major and emerging manufacturers of crystalline and thin-film solar modules in the Shanghai and Shenzhen regions.

CPV Consortium

Several companies have formally announced the establishment of a solar concentrator photovoltaic industry organization.  The CPV Consortium is focused on supporting the development of CPV as a mainstream energy source.

California Feed-in Tariff Report

The California Feed-In Tariff Design and Policy Options, Draft Consultant Report is available at the CEC website and will be discussed at the October 1 staff workshop.

Regulators Approval of Solana Generating Station Plans, Arizona

The Arizona Corporation Commission approved Arizona Public Service Co.’s planned Solana Generating Station, a 280-MW facility to be built on about 3 square miles near Gila Bend.  Solana is being constructed by Abengoa.

Solar Water Heating, China

China Solar & Clean Solutions Energy announced it has signed a contract to be the sole supplier of solar water-heating systems to the Overseas Chinese Village in Shenzhen City.  The contract was awarded on July 1 to CSOL’s subsidiary, Shenzhen Peng Sang Pu Solar Energy Company.
