Asola & Yongsan Partner on Korean Solar Plant

Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide said that its German partner, Asola Advanced and Automotive Solar Systems GmbH, has signed an MOU with the Korean firm Q&Tech/Yongsan to build a solar module plant in South Korea.

Q-Cells Agreements with LDK Solar

Q-Cells AG signed an agreement on the processing of upgraded metallurgical silicon into solar wafers with LDK Solar.  In addition, Q-Cells and LDK have signed an MOU for additional supplies of silicon wafers for the period between 2009 and 2018.

Trina Solar Agreement with Invictus NV

Trina Solar’s subsidiary, Changzhou Trina Solar Energy has entered into a sales agreement with Invictus NV under which Trina Solar will supply Invictus with 20 MW and 30 MW for 2009 and 2010, respectively, with an option to purchase an additional 10 MW for each year.

Capricorn Venture Funds Concentrator Optics

Capricorn Venture Partners announced its investment in Germany-based Concentrator Optics GmbH, Marburg.

Premier Power Private Placement

Premier Power Renewable Energy has completed a reverse merger transaction resulting in Premier Power Renewable Energy,  becoming a public company.  In connection with the merger, the company closed a $7 million private placement led by Vision Capital Master Investment Fund.

Bank of Scotland Deal on 8mw Solar Farm in Spain

The Bank of Scotland has completed a deal worth 63 million Euros with Santander Investment for the construction and operation of an 8 MW solar farm (Madridejos) in Toledo, Spain.  BP Solar is in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction of the plant, as well as its operation and maintenance.

Financing for Spanish PV Projects

KfW IPEX-Bank closed the project finance for the San Clemente and Villanueva de la Jara PV facilities in Castilla-La Mancha, Spain in August.   Both parks, with a capacity of 10.6 MWp and investment of EUR 68.5 million, are being completed to benefit from the Spanish PV feed-in tariff.

Solon Module Factory, Arizona

Solon Corp., a subsidiary of Solon AG in Berlin, says it will open a module manufacturing factory in Tucson, Arizona next month and create 200 green jobs by the end of 2009.

Gilatz PV Power Plant Purchase

Gilatz Investments 50% subsidiary Gilatz Spain SL has bought another PV power plant in Spain for EUR30 million.  The seller is Soltec, which will continue to provide maintenance services for the 3-MW plant.

Tracking Systems

Solar Monkey(TM) and Portuguese company WS Energia(R) announced an agreement to establish a new generation of tracking systems in North America.
